National Occupational Standards (NOS) for Learning and Development have been around since 2001. These have been extensively used by a range of practitioners engaged in industrial and work based training, qualification delivery and consultancy.

The NOS are designed for learning and development practitioners who are involved in developing and assessing the skills, knowledge and competence of learners primarily in the workplace or in work-related programmes of learning.
