You will need to complete all 5 steps below to achieve the Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and practice. Your course is assessed by a portfolio of evidence which will need to be presented for both internal and external quality assurance.

We encourage you to be fully activate throughout the course in particular when it comes to your assessment planning, reviews and learning.

Candidates who have already achieved the level 4 Award in Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice will need to complete only steps 1, 3, 4 and 5.

Please do not devise your own assessments. We only accept work that differs from our standardised work only if it is submitted and accepted at the beginning of the course as part of claiming prior learning.

Guidance regarding the presentation of your work

Presentation of coursework
Please use the coursework templates provided. Use the Arial font, size 12 and use 1.5 spacing.

Pitching your coursework
Your work should be full of examples from your work that demonstrates the depth of your knowledge and practice. You will be expected to demonstrate evidence of carrying out some research by including references from a number of sources. Your work should also demonstrate the ability to analyse, link to theory and regulations. Your ideas should ideally be supported by evidence-based practice to reflect the level of study. You should generally be able to examine the assignment question from different perspectives?

Please pay due diligence to the quality of your work, Never assume the reader knows what you are discussing about? You have to fully explain everything and should avoid bullet points and listing unless you are requested to do so. Please avoid waffling and respond to the assessment task directly to avoid losing focus on the requirements of the task.

You have to make everything clear and ensure you have responded to all parts of the assessment task! Although this course is assessed by a range of methods certain methods such as witness testimonies and professional discussions are only used to fill gaps and to reinforce what you have already written. Please do not expect this to be your main source of evidence!

Word Limit
There are no word limits. You however ned to aim for quality rather than quantity.

References
References should always be provided whenever you use other people’s work. Failure to acknowledge your sources is considered as plagiarism.

Images, Tables, Graphs, Supporting Evidence
Please do not include any graphs, tables, or images within the body of your coursework? These should be submitted as part of your bibliography. All supporting evidence will need to be submitted separately as part of an appendix.

Feedback Turn Around
There is currently a seven working days feedback turnaround period for question 1. Another seven for question 2. Seven days is also needed to assess question 3. When you decide to submit all the questions at once it can take up to 21 working days to assess your work.

It can take up to 14 working days from the course dedicated day to assess your practical units and all supporting evidence. The days are counted from the first Thursday and exclude Saturday, Sunday, and bank holidays.

Where you choose not to follow our guidelines regarding submitting your work our normal time scales do not apply. You are, therefore, required to submit your work as you go along.

Demonstrate Learning
This applies throughout your course from start to finish.

Guided Learning Hours

It is your responsibility to ensure you utilise all activities and opportunities available to you as part of demonstrating learning. You are expected to demonstrate how you have met at least 115 Guided learning Hours by the end of the course. The Guided learning hours can be met by attending workshops, tutorials, observations, and any other interaction with course staff. Guided learning hours are only met when you interact with a member of staff. Any other interaction with your colleagues and reading you do in private is usually classified as self-study time unless your activities have been approved as part of your holistic assessment plan.

Please remember the course is not just about completing coursework. The course is made up of Learning Outcomes. You will, therefore, need to demonstrate that learning has taken place over sufficient time. You will need to focus on both participating in course activities and completing coursework.

Total Qualification Time
This is an estimate of the total length of time it is expected that a learner will typically take to achieve and demonstrate the level of attainment necessary for the award of the qualification i.e. to achieve all learning outcomes. Total Qualification Time is comprised of GLH and an estimate of the number of hours a learner is likely to spend in preparation, study, or any other learning including assessment, which takes place as directed by, but not under the supervision of a lecturer, supervisor or tutor. The credit value, where given, for a qualification, is determined by TQT, as one credit corresponds to 10 hours of learning. The Total Qualification Time for this qualification is 120 hours.

Unit 1 Questions

In order to achieve unit 1, you are expected to complete the three questions below. Question 1 is expected to have been completed by the end of week 1 after your tutorial. Question 2 by the end of week 2. Question 3 by the end of week 3.

Unit 2

Practical evidence for this unit can be submitted at any time.

You are required to complete all the questions on the unit coursework template. All questions will require you to signpost and submit supporting evidence. As part of your preparation for this third stage we encourage you to collect most of the desired evidence highlighted on this IQA Evidence Checklist Form.

You will be required to demonstrate how you have worked with your learning and development environment to carry out quality assurance activities. Your evidence should address how you have supported at least two assessors, worked in line with internal and external requirements, carried out sampling, gave feedback, carried out standardisation, and promoted career development.

Please ensure any videos are submitted as MP4. All audio files should be submitted as MP3. All supporting evidence should be submitted as either word, excel, or pdf files.

Unit 3 – Team Leading and Project Management

Your practical evidence can be submitted at any time.

You are required to complete all the questions on the unit coursework template. All questions will require you to signpost and submit supporting evidence. In order to achieve unit 3, you need to ensure there is evidence of leading a team and delegating tasks. You need to create a work plan which you then use over a period of time as part of project management of an internal quality assurance activity.

Your work plan should have clear aims and be based on SMART objectives. You can either use your work plan to demonstrate how you revised your activities, communicated, evaluated progress and shared results with your team.

Course Summative Form

You also need to complete the Course Summative Form. Here you are expected to outline your learning journey and highlight the course work you have completed as part of your candidate statement. You also need to identify the course activities you have participated in and highlight anything you have learned. You need to end by making a statement about why you believe you are competent and deserve the qualification. You will also be required to declare that you have acknowledged all courses and have not plagiarised.

Portfolio of Evidence – Final Quality Assurance

Once you have completed all the steps highlighted above and have been signed off by the assessor your portfolio of evidence will be submitted final quality assurance. This is the time all your evidence and assessment decisions are checked as part of confirming you have indeed met all the learning outcomes and assessment criteria.

It can take up to 14 days before the outcome of quality assurance can be released. Certificates will be claimed for all candidates who have successfully met all course requirements. Where there are actions this information will be passed to you as soon as possible. Please note, our admin team do not discuss assessments or quality assurance matters over the phone. We also do not claim certificates when candidates owe fees.
