You will need to follow the 11 steps below in order to achieve the Level 3 Certificate in Information, Advice or Guidance Qualification. We accept evidence from suitable Expert witnesses who can confirm some of your work activities.

1
Induction

It is important to have an induction as soon as possible to better understand how this course is delivered and assessed. The induction will be an opportunity to discuss your needs and prior learning. This will also be an opportunity to negotiate targets and plan assessment activities.

Demonstrate Learning

This applies throughout your course from start to finish. You will not be signed off with no evidence of learning.

Portal and Web Conferences
Please utilise the resources published on the portal. The forums and web conferences are the main sources of course delivery. These will also enable you to benefit from peer learning and get support.

Guided Learning Hours
The Guided learning hours can be met by attending workshops, tutorials, observations and any other interaction with course staff. Guided learning hours are only met when you interact with a member of staff. The guided learning requirement for this course is 168 hours.

Please remember the course is not just about completing coursework. The course is made up of Learning Outcomes. You will, therefore, need to demonstrate that learning has taken place over sufficient time. You will need to focus on both participating in course activities and completing coursework.

Assessors might put your assessments on hold if you do not participate in course activities. Our quality assurers will not sign off any candidate who has not satisfactory met their guided learning hours and participated in course activities. We will not risk our Centre Registration and compromise our current and past candidates. Remember the assessment criteria is made up of learning outcomes! You need to provide evidence as part of your portfolio demonstrating your learning journey. You will not be signed off if you have not completed this essential part of the course.

Total Qualification Time
This is an estimate of the total length of time it is expected that a learner will typically take to achieve and demonstrate the level of attainment necessary for the award of the qualification i.e. to achieve all learning outcomes. Total Qualification Time is comprised of GLH and an estimate of the number of hours a learner is likely to spend in preparation, study or any other learning including assessment, which takes place as directed by, but not under the supervision of a lecturer, supervisor or tutor. The credit value, where given, for a qualification, is determined by TQT, as one credit corresponds to 10 hours of learning. The Total Qualification Time for this qualification is 240 hours.

Prior Learning, Work Products, Observations, Reflective Accounts and Work Diary

Prior Learning
Please apply for recognition of prior learning within two weeks of your enrolment by following the procedures highlighted under resources.

Work Products
It is important that you identify work products within your workplace that can assist you to demonstrate your practice. This can include records of communication and personal development plans. Please complete the Candidate Work Products Record Form to identify this evidence.

Reflective Accounts and Work Diary
We require you to complete a reflective account or work diary as part of your evidence of practice.

Course Completion Form

You also need to complete the Course Completion Form. Here you are expected to outline your learning journey and highlight the course work you have completed as part of your candidate statement. You also need to identify the course activities you have participated in and highlight anything you have learned. You need to end by making a statement about why you believe you are competent and deserve the qualification. You will also be required to declare that you have acknowledged all courses and have not plagiarised.

Portfolio of Evidence – Final Quality Assurance

Once you have completed all the steps highlighted above and have been signed off by the assessor your portfolio of evidence will be submitted to undergo final quality assurance. This is the time all your evidence and assessment decisions are checked as part of confirming you have indeed met all the learning outcomes and assessment criteria.

It can take up to 14 days before the outcome of quality assurance can be released. Certificates will be claimed for all candidates who have successfully met all course requirements. Where there are actions this information will be passed to you as soon as possible. Please note, our admin team do not discuss assessments or quality assurance matters over the phone. We also do not claim certificates when candidates owe fees.
